Top talent acquisition key to company’s growth strategy
ROSEVILLE, Minn., July 15, 2021 — Catheter and Medical Design LLC (CMD), a manufacturer of custom, highly complex catheter solutions, recently announced the hiring of two industry experts to lead business development and customer relationships in the East Coast and Midwest markets. The hires continue a trend of growth and expansion that builds on the acquisition of VitalDyne Medical earlier this year.
Rich Abraham is CMD’s new East Coast Business Development Director. He is an accomplished business development professional and senior technical advisor with more than 25 years of progressive responsibilities and experience in the medical device industry. His career spans positions in design and manufacturing engineering through his founding of TDC Medical in 2004. TDC Medical was sold in 2009 to Vention, where Abraham served as Director of Business Development, then sold in 2017 to Nordson MEDICAL, where he remained as Technical Director.
Scott Olson is CMD’s new Midwest Business Development Director. An expert in complex catheter-based devices and delivery systems with more than 30 years of experience, he has held design and manufacturing engineering positions with OEMs such as SCIMED Life Systems (now part of Boston Scientific) and St. Jude Medical (now part of Abbott Laboratories). He then built a career in contract design and manufacturing, with positions at Creganna Medical and MedVenture. In 2012, he founded Matrix Medtech, which was sold in 2015 to Catheter Research Inc. (now part of Biomerics).
“These hires were motivated by our commitment to bringing the best people on board to work directly with our customers to speed development and ramp manufacturing quickly and reliably,” said CMD CEO Randall Sword. “Rich and Scott are accomplished professionals with decades of industry expertise. They’ll be great assets to our team.”
